      Vietnam – Japan Forum of Research and Human Resources Development on Nuclear Technology has become a regular event under the framework of international cooperation between Vietnam and Japan. Since 2013, the Forum has been biannually held under the auspices of Vietnam Atomic Energy Institute (VINATOM), the International Nuclear Energy Development of Japan Co., Ltd (JINED) and JAIF International Cooperation Center (JICC).

     Joining the Forum are researchers, students, representatives of governmental organizations, institutes of atomic energy research and application and press from both countries, who desire for gathering and exchanging the research results, trends and plans of human resources development in the atomic energy field. The Forum attracts a great interest from Japanese universities such as Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo City University, Kyoto University, Nagaoka University of Technology; as well as from the senior managers of JINED, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd., Toshiba Corporation, Hitachi Corporation. In Vietnam, not only the institutes under VINATOM but governing agencies such as Vietnam Atomic Energy Agency, Vietnam Agency of Radiation and Nuclear Safety, Ninh Thuan Nuclear Power Projects Management Board – Vietnam Electricity, representatives of Ministry of Education and Training and universities also have paid close attention to this event.

     The upcoming 9th Forum is scheduled to take place at the Da lat Nuclear Research Institute, Dalat, from 12th to 13th, July 2018. The main topics to be exchanged in this forum are (1) experiences of universities and research institutes from the two countries in developing and implementing research programs for nuclear reactors (2) the human resources development to strengthen bilateral cooperation and communication. Indeed, the topics are for promoting the applications of atomic energy for socio-economic development of the 2 countries.
